Lisa the Artist

My interest in faeries really began when I was a young girl. My mother took me for a walk behind my grandmothers house in the local woods. There were some trees that had been burnt and the area was filled with new growth and life. At the same time mom had been reading to me from a book called The Hobbit. In those woods she pointed out the hobbit trails and burnt trees. She said the trees had been burnt by the dragons breath and the little dwellings and nesting areas of the local animals became the hobbit homes.

The world of enchantment came to life for me. But it wasnt until years later when I met a woman who had died of an aneurism on the operating table for 6 minutes, and then came back; that my life with the faeries would emerge.

Carol had visions while on that table in the hospital, and decided to recreate as much as possible using my help. She had me paint on glass and mirror to create the most light and illumination possible. Angels and faeries were everywhere! Her entire house was transformed and painted white with light shining brightly onto the pieces. That was in 1996. I have been painting faeries ever since.

I have been a freelance artist since 1987 and have worked in almost every medium and painted on almost every surface. I can paint from scales that are larger than life to images so small that the brush has only 3 or 4 bristles. I absolutely love what I do.

In the last few years it was no longer enough to just paint the faeries. They began and demanding to be heard. They have something to say! I feel that every one of the faeries that speak through me go with me on my journey in life. I experience the conversations they bring up and apply them to my life before ever bringing them out into the world.

The faeries are here to teach us and help us to heal ourselves. All we need to do is listen.

The journey is so much fun with them buzzing around my ears!

I now live with my husband Michael and two daughters, Cloe and Rachel, in Roxborough Park, CO.

Lisa is Also A Writer.

As an author Lisa brings her unique twist to what would otherwise be just another pretty faerie. She captures ways of being and brings them forth with simple and loving conversations applied to each piece of work.

Her creative and inspirational approach has separated her from the current trend of faerie and created a permanent place in the hearts of true fans searching for more in their life than just artwork to hang on their walls.

It has been said by many that the artwork is beautiful but the words are what make them special. Today I feel as though I have bought something real states one happy customer.

Another has framed the words with the artwork and says she reads the messages every day.

Lisa has been a self published author for over 10 years with her books included in her faerie boxes and writings for her prints. She was also a reoccurring writer for a bi-weekly publication for The Long Beach Business Journal for a time period when the faeries were first being born. She has been published a couple of national poetry books and is currently working towards putting all of her faeries into one book so they can all be enjoyed and inspirational to anyone who chooses.
